Australian Interior Design Awards presentation

The shortlist for the 2016 Australian Interior Design Awards has been announced, and tickets are now on sale for the gala presentation. More than 500 architects, designers and their clients will gather for the celebration on 10 June at the Art Deco-era Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney, where the winning and commended projects will be revealed.

The Australian Interior Design Awards recognizes the innovative thinking and visionary solutions of Australia’s design industry. Categories include Residential Design, Residential Decoration, Retail Design, Hospitality Design, Workplace Design, Public Design, Installation Design, Sustainability Advancement and Emerging Interior Design Practice, with the top project receiving the Premier Award for Australian Interior Design. There is also an Award for Interior Design Impact, which recognizes the significant influence of interior design on the business, social, human resource, environmental and/or cultural outcomes of a project. 

The Australian Interior Design Awards are a partnership event of Artichoke magazine and the Design Institute of Australia. This year’s awards are supported by Forbo Flooring Systems, Dulux, Business Interiors by Staples, Laminex, Smeg, Space and Bespoke, with Shape as jury host.
