Street furniture by Stoddart Town and Park

Stoddart Town and Park is a trusted supplier that has the flexibility, experience and commitment to quality required to deliver successful outdoor furniture solutions for large projects. The company manufactures products within Australia and is well equipped to provide, with short lead times, custom street furniture products and projects for Australian urban landscapes.

After completing a rigorous research and development process, Town and Park added a new barbecue hotplate to its product line-up. The hotplate is manufactured out of 3 mm thick stainless steel and is fully welded to avoid buckling. The thickness of the plate provides a higher thermal mass than that of thinner plates and enables better retention of heat on the cooking surface.

The Town and Park hotplate has also been created with three layers of insulation to assist with faster heat-up times and more efficient cooking. The plate has an aluminium backing that contributes to the even dispersion of heat.

Town and Park prioritized simplicity for the end user during all facets of its development process, resulting in an innovative take on the standard cooking plate. Rather than angling toward a central drain hole, the new hotplate exhibits a very gentle slope toward the rear of the plate, where the welded sides control the flow of oil to a rear drain hole. This feature enables more efficient cooking and cleaning because it allows grease to automatically drain from the cook plate.

The hotplate has been manufactured using only heavy‑duty material with high‑quality stainless steel finishes, and it is engineered to fit into any standard or non‑standard base currently used in councils throughout Australia. The hotplate can also be supplied pre‑fitted into Stoddart’s own custom DDA‑compliant frame, which is constructed for those in wheelchairs who can use the cantilevered design to position themselves close to the hotplates for easy cooking.

Operated via an easy‑to‑use and sleek control panel with a vandal‑resistant piezoelectric start button and dual “power on” and “ready” indicator lights, this new barbecue unit can be customized with any colour selection from the Dulux powdercoat range. stoddart.com.au
