Australian Interior Design Awards

The Australian Interior Design Awards is calling for entries for the 2011 program. Celebrating excellence in residential and commercial interior design from Australia-based designers, the notfor- profit awards are co-presented by the Design Institute of Australia, Designex and Artichoke magazine.

Entering its eighth year, the annual awards provide designers with recognition at the highest professional level. Testament to its prestige, the program emerged from the GFC unscathed, with an increase in entries to 613, up from 575 in 2009.

To receive updates about the program, register online at www.australianinteriordesignawards.com. Online submissions open 1 November and close 5 February for projects completed between 1 September 2009 and 31 December 2010. The presentation of awards will take place at Peninsula in Melbourne on 15 April 2011, coinciding with the Australian Institute of Architects conference and Designex.

Judging is conducted anonymously under the supervision of the Design Institute of Australia. Jurors for the 2011 program are Daniel Dalla Riva of 6 Hats, Victoria; Pascale Gomes-McNabb of Pascale Gomes-McNabb, Victoria; Libby Guj of JCY Architects, Western Australia; Greg Natale of Greg Natale Design, New South Wales; Susan Rossi of DBI Design, Queensland; Matthew Sheargold of Sheargold, New South Wales; Ninotschka Titchkosky of BVN, Victoria; and Kirrilly Wilson of John Wardle Architects, Victoria. The Sustainability chair is John Gertsakis of WSP Environment and Energy.
