Artichoke exhibition

The exhibition Artichoke: The Making of a Design Magazine opened at the Design Institute of Australia on 23 February and ran until 10 March 2011.

Celebrating the evolution of Artichoke, the exhibition charted the magazine’s 12-year history, from its experimental beginnings to its current position as one of Australia’s leading design magazines. Twelve past and present Artichoke contributors each selected their favourite article or imagery from Artichoke’s history, reflecting on what it means to them. The exhibition also featured the Artichoke Seat sculpture by Toby Horrocks, as well as a selected Artichoke archival and material digital display.

On opening night, Artichoke past editor Cameron Bruhn and DIA past president Joanne Cys officially opened the exhibition with more than 50 guests attending the event.
