Hunter Douglas Commercial’s Alpha Awnings series has been developed to meet market demand for modern external awning hardware systems that are suited to the latest architectural trends.
Innovative in design and of premium quality, the awnings are available in five guiding options, including Alpha Side Tensioned System (STC), Alpha Channel Awning, Alpha Cable Awning, Alpha Drop Awning and Alpha Pivot Awning. Each of the awnings is available in widths of up to five metres with a four metre drop, by incorporating a new heavy duty 78 mm steel roller tube. Each of these systems offers a universal headbox for design consistency.
The awnings are designed and engineered in Australia specifically for the Australian climate and with flexibility in mind. From the widest range of fabrics to multiple operating systems and powdercoated custom colours, there’s a solution for every commercial project.
The Alpha STC is ideal for when privacy and light control are a primary concern. It uses specially designed tube reducers to minimize fabric build-up, ensuring the fabric rolls up symmetrically for longevity. The system features a unique sliding metal insert that allows up to 20 mm width flexibility, as well as sound bumpers to minimize noise when operating in windy conditions. It is an ideal solution for hotels, cafes and resorts.
The Alpha Deep Channel allows up to 30 mm fabric overlap within the channel, eliminating light gaps and minimizing the fabric’s movement in windy conditions. It comes with a locking pin option, which can be used to hold the awning in place at various heights.
The Alpha STC and Alpha Deep Channel Systems use a two-piece side channel that ensures no light gaps as the fabric is held taut between the left and right channels. They are ideal for UV protection, insect resistance and windy applications.
Made of high-tensile 316 marine-grade stainless steel cables, the Alpha Cable system is ideal for coastal applications. The contemporary stainless steel cable system ensures longevity and is the best option when fixing a channel to a wall is not possible, particularly for areas encompassing large glazed windows or verandahs. The system also comes with a choice of either floor- or wallmounted brackets.
The Alpha Pivot Arm System is ideal for windows that open out and require airflow. A heavy-duty spring incorporated in the pivot arms provides excellent fabric tension, even with awning widths of up to five metres.
All awnings are available in various fabric options, including the Everview External Fabric, and in 24 colours. They provide heat and glare reduction and UV protection.
