Ecoply plywood geometric shelter

The HexBox canopy, a collaborative project by students and researchers at the University of Kaiserslautern and the University of Sydney, achieves equilibrium through corresponding loads constrained by a given boundary. The timber shell is made exclusively of Ecoply components without the addition of any kind of metal fasteners for the main load-bearing structure.

Once all of the boxes were assembled, the shelter was quick to construct without formwork or prior expert knowledge. At 45 m2, the structure is exceptionally lightweight for its size and can be easily disassembled when required. ecoply.com.au
