In an overhaul of a Woollahra house (in Sydney’s eastern suburbs) Scyon Secura interior flooring was trusted to provide a solid, creak-free upper floor. When builder Mat Croyston went to install the flooring on the upper storey of the home on a steeply sloping site, he first thought he might use the HardiPanel compressed sheets he’d used on the ground floor.
“Originally we looked at the options of either two layers of plywood or the compressed fibre cement we had used downstairs but I was concerned about the installation process,” says Mat.
When he found Secura interior flooring he found he had the peace of mind of compressed fibre cement, without the backache. Sized at 2,700 mm x 600 mm, each sheet of Secura interior flooring could be carried by two people as they might carry a surfboard. And because Secura is made from Scyon, the advanced cement composite that can be gun-nailed and cut like wood, no pre-drilling or screw fixing was needed.
