Sleek German design that combines strength and aesthetic has won Markilux and its new 1700/1710 Folding Arm Awning the prestigious 2012 Red Dot Design Award.
This slender, organically designed awning complements contemporary architecture, is equipped with Markilux’s bionic tendon arm technology for strength and features an integrated drainage gutter. It also requires little maintenance and is highly durable, protecting from the sun, wind and rain.
Designed with soft, organic contours, the torque bar and cover tube appear to meld into the tear-shaped end caps, while the round front profile offers a compact finish. The 1700 Open Style Awning is highly adaptable, and a closed cassette option is added with the 1710. It is also available in a stretch version for narrow patios and balconies.
