It won’t put gas fireplaces in people’s pockets to keep them warm when outside on a cold winter’s day, but it will let them use their smartphone to act as the remote controller for their fireplace.

The smartphone app (for iPhone and Android devices) is available for the recently released “D” series of fireplaces, which feature high 4.5-plus star energy-efficiency ratings, up to 10.5 kW heat output, double-sided see-through designs, heat ducting, and a very flexible, powered direct-vent flue system.
