Open House Melbourne

More than 100 buildings opened their doors to the public for Open House Melbourne 2013, giving visitors an opportunity to see inside, on top of and under some of the city’s most remarkable buildings. Held on July 27 and 28, Open House Melbourne, an initiative of the Committee for Melbourne, this year included 40 new sites and more tours than previous years.

“Melbourne is internationally renowned for its architecture and it is fascinating to see how buildings have changed over the past 150 years,” Open House Melbourne ambassador Peter Maddison said.

Highlights included the Channel 9 Studios in Docklands, the new 171 Collins Street, innovative residential buildings, the new National Tennis Centre, Victoria Police’s Airlie Leadership Development Centre on Punt Road, a treehouse in South Yarra, and the Supreme Court of Victoria – Court of Appeal.
