In 2020, Poliform presents Gentleman. Designed by Marcel Wanders, Gentleman is a seating collection that includes an armchair, footstool and sofa.
There are three armchairs: the more compact Gentleman Single; the comfortable, welcoming Gentleman Relax; and the out-of-the-ordinary Gentleman Reserved, with a high backrest that brings to mind the world
of cigar lounges.
This seating collection becomes even more exclusive and versatile for commercial projects thanks to the option to combine two different finishes for the internal and external upholstery. The footstool pairs with both the Gentleman Reserved and the Gentleman Relax: a useful, elegant accessory that also provides added comfort for the user.
Gentleman Friends is the sofa, which is designed for conversation. Friends is available as a two- or three-seater and completes a collection that has been thought through in every detail, from the grosgrain trim to the buttons on the backrest.
A seating collection of exceptional comfort, Gentleman products can be individually used or combined in home surroundings or in communal, commercial areas such a foyers, lobbies and upscale offices.
This collection is another stand-out product by Marcel Wanders, who has built an illustrious career. Born in 1963, Marcel grew up in the Netherlands and graduated from the School of the Arts Arnhem in 1988.
In 1996, Marcel released the now-iconic Knotted Chair with Droog Design; the chair launched his career into the stratosphere. He is now ubiquitous in global design circles, designing for the biggest European contemporary design manufacturers like B&B Italia, Bisazza, Poliform, Moroso, Flos, Boffi, Cappellini, Droog Design and Moooi, of which he is also art director and co-owner.
