Project 12 Architecture’s design maintains a connection to the original building’s history through the application of timeless and quality materials such as spotted gum timber.

The natural beauty of the spotted gum timber adds a richness to the overall design of this family home.

Spotted Gum enables a cohesive flow

Project 12 Architecture was commissioned to transition a heritage-listed family home into a generous inner-city dwelling. Big River Group’s premium plywood products in Spotted Gum were specified all through the interior, with the natural beauty of the species adding a richness to the overall design.

Big River Group’s decorative plywood products Armourpanel and Armourfloor were used in the living areas and stairways, where natural light filters through the home and highlights the textural depth of the timber; the company’s premium engineered timber product, ArmourCab, enabled a seamless overall finish for the beautifully dramatic, warm kitchen.

Designed specifically for cabinetry and joinery applications, the product used for the cabinetry was blended with the walls and flooring in the same veneer that is used for Big River’s engineered plywood products, which can be applied to a moisture-resistant MDF. With careful consideration of flow and use of space, the successful transformation has futureproofed the family home for its next phase. bigrivergroup.com.au
