PVC was incorporated into Swela fabric to enable a view from Markilux blinds at this Sydney cafe.

Markilux at a Sydney cafe

Markilux’s new vertical tensioned blind, the 869, gives shade protection for windows up to 21 square metres. This extensive coverage was previously only available using a coupled version.

For an inner-city cafe in Sydney, Markilux came up with an innovative solution that allowed customers to be protected from wind tunnel breezes while enabling a view. Markilux incorporated PVC in the Swela fabric to create windows for the 14 individual tensioning straight-drop awnings.

Designed and made in Germany, the 869 can be custom made to widths of 6 metres with a maximum drop of 3.5 metres, retracting into a fully enclosed cassette.
