An Australia-wide program is encouraging the use of natural, renewable wood and wood products in design and building projects.
The “Wood. Naturally Better” program promotes the use of wood from sustainably managed forests as an environmentally sound design and construction material.
The many benefits of wood include the fact that it stores carbon in its structure, helping reduce the effect of climate change, it is a safe and flexible material to work with during construction, it is durable, it delivers strong acoustic and thermal performance and it can be recycled and reused. It also has universal aesthetic appeal.
