Benchmark Evolution from Kingspan

Benchmark Evolution Axis, from the Benchmark Design Wall Series, has been used in the design and construction of the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children in Canberra.

Built on the Canberra Hospital campus, the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children brings together a broad range of public health services, all located in a single, state-of-the art, three-storey facility.

The panels used for the hospital were 600 mm (KS600 EVO) and 900 mm wide (KS900 EVO) and 50 mm thick, providing an R-value of 2.65 (m2K/W). Additionally, some of the panels featured horizontal crank corners, which were prefabricated in-house and successful in minimizing thermal breaks. In tandem with Kingspan’s unique installation method, the preformed corners delivered a much faster installation process and limited the need for bulky flashings, which pleased the architects as it ensured the hospital met aesthetic requirements.
