Insulated building panels manufacturer Bondor/Metecno has opened a state-of-the-art factory in Campbellfield, Melbourne. The $20 million, 14,500 m2 facility is capable of producing more than two million square metres of energy efficient panels every year and represents a significant investment in Australian manufacturing.
The factory will produce panels aimed at reducing a building’s energy consumption by up to 50%. The company’s executive general manager Geoff Marsdon says, with the marked increase in electricity prices, the time is right to invest in energy efficient technology. “We can address demand by reducing the energy required to heat or cool a building, and superior performing building envelopes are the way to achieve this,” Mr Marsdon says. bondor.com.au
