Sunvale Community Park in Sunshine, Victoria, is a $3.6 million site that has been in the planning and design process since 2014. In partnership with the Victorian government, Melbourne Water, Brimbank City Council, Friends of Sunvale Community Park and Simpson Construction, Stoddart delivered bespoke structures and elements for the park.
Stoddart designed and constructed the pavilion and BBQ shelters, which feature polycarbonate roofs and perforated soffits. Stoddart also constructed a custom timber stage with provision for electrical and audio services.
A high-security UV services cabinet clad in recycled timber was also constructed by Stoddart, and doubles as an additional BBQ area food preparation space. Additionally, Xlerplate weathering steel cladding was used for the outside of the prefabricated public amenities block.
The overall design of structures and elements complements the community park, which includes a play space, facilities for water play and informal sports, an outdoor gym and a skatepark.
