Safetyline Jalousie louvre windows are well known for their security features and extra-width capabilities, but they also have improved sound insulation properties.
In recent tests carried out at the National Acoustic Laboratories, and in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1191-2002, these impressive louvre windows achieved a weighted sound reduction index of Rw (C, Ctr), equalling 32 decibels (0, -1). This reduction is equivalent to the noise of very loud traffic being reduced to that of an average office.
Rw is the weighted sound reduction index in decibels and it describes the airborne sound-insulating power of a building element. It can apply to walls, ceilings, floors, doors or windows. The higher the number, the greater the sound insulating power of the building element.
