Classified as a historic monument, the Alliance Hotel in Lille, France, also referred to as the Minimes Convent, recently chose Dickson Sunworker fabric to create a canopy for the restaurant Le Jardin du Cloitre.
The challenge was to create just the right solar protection under a 900-square-metre canopy. Decorators had to balance aesthetic appeal and technical performance to ensure optimal conditions (heat, glare and UV protection). Thanks to Sunworker fabric and a mechanical velum awning structure, the restaurant is now bathed in soft sun-light without the heat, eliminating the need for additional electrical lighting or airconditioning.
