Architectural Window Systems’ Thermal Heart system of thermally broken windows and doors has been put to the test in the Blue Mountains town of Linden, at a house designed by architect Alexander Symes.
The case study house was formed from two existing dwellings, which were deconstructed and linked together to make one high-thermal-performance building. AWS collaborated with the architect, a thermal environmental specialist and a blower door specialist to investigate the house’s thermal performance. Symes said of the project, “… having these high-performance AWS thermally broken windows means that you’ve got these massive expanses of glass that look out to that lovely view.” awsaustralia.com.au/thermalheart/video-gallery
