Founded in 1994, the University of the Sunshine Coast was master planned to focus on environmentally sustainable design, and became the first greenfield university in Australia since 1971.
Campus buildings use passive lighting and natural ventilation to minimize non-renewable energy use and have received over 25 awards for planning, architecture and construction. One of the more remarkable buildings is the Information and Communication Technology faculty, or ICT, a striking multi-level construction with a facade of grating panels supplied by Hi-Light Industries. Grating profiles HA403 and HC403 in anodized finish were installed on the unique facade, creating a striking, highly visible result.
Hi-Light Industries has over 20 years’ experience working with designers of iconic commercial buildings throughout Australia.
