The Australian Standard AS1428.1-2009 for disability access, which was published two years ago, has been enforced since 1 May 2011. The industry was provided a period of grace during which time products and practices were to be upgraded.
The Assistrail modular range of compliant disability handrails meets all access and mobility requirements. Assistrail systems eliminate the disadvantages of traditional welded systems, providing high corrosion resistance while offering significant delivery and on-site installation cost savings. Being fully modular, no welding or fabrication is needed, resulting in a rapid and easy installation that requires no specialist trades or tools.
Whether the application is for a new project or an upgrade to an existing building to meet AS1428.1-2009, Assistrail offers an easy and cost effective solution combining strength, durability and versatility. From design, configuration and installation, Assistrail systems offer a solution for ramps, stairways, pathways and walkways.
