It seems something of a contradiction that this building on Queensland’s Gold Coast should house an X-ray clinic. German scientist Wilhelm Röntgen may have invented the X-ray to see inside the human body, but it is the outside of this X-ray clinic in Southport that draws people’s attention.
The modern design incorporates various aluminium elements in the facade including Hi-Light louvres for horizontal screening, and grating for service walkways and vertical car park screens. Hi-Light supplied and installed the systems, which included an “all aluminium” structure due to the salt water environment of the area. Sections of screening were clear anodized, while others featured a dark bronze anodized finish. Another inclusion was the Man Safe static line system.
