Gold Coast Airport’s southern terminal is having a 30,000 m2 expansion, designed by Hassell, that will double the footprint of the existing build.
Construction presented numerous challenges, including scale, noise reduction and a global pandemic. Havendeen Roofing project manager Jaime Genn explained, “A double layer of locally made Ecoply plywood was installed over the entire roof to meet the acoustic rating – totalling 14,000 m².
