The selection, sourcing and authenticity of Elton Group’s timber veneer were vital factors in bringing the design of Adelaide Sofitel Hotel’s ninth-floor restaurant to life.
Supplementing WoodWall veneer used throughout the hotel, Elton Group worked with Sofitel to create a custom-stained oak WoodWall that perfectly matched the foyer parquet floor.
Hung in single 4 m full-length sheets and sequence-matched, the flexible and paper-backed WoodWall veneer allowed the crafting of perfect joins that are not possible with other forms of timber veneer. Prefinished with a timber polish, elegant solid timber mouldings were added and stained to match the WoodWall, creating a traditional fielded panel aesthetic.
Installed just days before opening, WoodWall rolls were delivered to site and hung with no framing or on-site finishing required, taking a fraction of the time it would to install traditional timber panels.
