Reid Construction is an Australian supplier of graphic concrete. Used worldwide in architecturally designed tilt-up construction, graphic concrete allows architects to use concrete surfaces in new and stylish ways.
To create design effects on concrete panels, architects and designers can select a pattern from one of Reid Construction systems’ collections, or develop a unique building surface design of their own.
A surface retarder is printed on a specialized membrane, which concrete is then cast on top of. The retarder slows the setting of the concrete in selected areas. The unset, softer concrete surface is then removed, revealing the fine aggregate finish. Colour pigments can be added to the cement and different coloured aggregates can be used to further enhance a pattern or design.
