Innovative new plasterboard that allows you to work smarter, do more and build better
The best innovations start with a purpose. Why is it needed? Who will benefit from it? These questions were central to the way USG Boral approached its revolutionary new plasterboard.
USG Boral’s aim was to launch an innovative product that applies to every board that its customers hang – plasterboard that is lighter, allows work crews to be more efficient and helps crews and businesses make more money. And while that’s quite a lot to ask from plasterboard, USG Boral found a way to make it happen.
The new product is called USG Boral Sheetrock® Brand Plasterboard. According to Bill Hogan, Senior Vice President of Marketing at USG Boral, “Once our customers experience and see how our plasterboard improves productivity, they’ll never look at it the same way again.”
With 113 years of science-based experience behind it, USG Boral has been proven on job sites, with almost 725 million square metres of this technology already installed worldwide. USG Boral delivers consistent quality, strength and ease of use to contractors and builders.
USG Boral’s use of patented technology and innovative chemistry are key to the creation of its new plasterboard product. Utilizing technology that ranges from what can be seen by the human eye to nanotechnology that only the most advanced scientific equipment can recognize, USG Boral Sheetrock® Brand Plasterboard is unlike any plasterboard product in the region.
USG Boral Sheetrock® Brand Plasterboard is 15% lighter than USG Boral standard 10 mm and 13 mm plasterboard, is easier to carry and install, and simply performs better – reducing callbacks and warranty costs. According to USG Boral, it’s also the only wall board and ceiling board to be stronger kilogram-for-kilogram, delivering “Sag-Defying Strength™,” which also helps reduce the chance of damage during handling and installation.
“Not all boards are created equal. At USG Boral, we’ve re-engineered the fundamental way plasterboard is designed, formulated and manufactured. We’ve redefined the category, forever changing the way people build,” Hogan said.
USG Corporation and Boral Limited first announced their joint venture in October 2013 in an effort to close the gap across some of the fastest growing construction markets in the world. Boral has contributed its Gypsum division, which includes its plasterboard operations in Australia and Asia, and USG has contributed its Asian and Middle Eastern businesses, as well as exclusive access in the joint venture’s territory to its world-leading building products technologies. usgboral.com
