Sea-Tex solar-control roller shade fabric from Horiso

Sea-Tex high-performance roller shade fabric is made from 50% recovered ocean plastic. This equates to an average-sized commercial project using approximately 480 kg of recovered ocean plastic.

Developed by CR Fabrics and yarn innovation company Bionic, Sea-Tex aims to help reduce the impact of plastic pollution in the world’s oceans.

Bionic develops localized recycling programs along with a global network of environmental organizations such as Waterkeeper Alliance to collect, sort and process recovered ocean plastic. The symbiotic relationship addresses the global plastic pollution crisis through the reduction of plastic pollution from coastal communities while creating jobs and stimulating the local economy.

Sea-Tex fabric can be applied to manual, motorized and automated solar-control roller shade systems for commercial and residential spaces with full technical support from Horiso.

Available in five colours and in blackout or metallized fabric options, Sea-Tex is 100% recyclable, fire retardant and PVC free. Certifications include Cradle to Cradle, as well as Greenguard Gold and Confidence In Textiles for low chemical emissions and harmful substances respectively. crfabrics.com.au
