Co-designed with the art, craft and design community, Design Canberra is an opportunity to be experimental and welcomes ideas for everything from large scale interventions to small tours, talks and performances.
Design Canberra has announced the theme of the 2021 festival will be Transformation. After world changing events, history has shown that citizens, businesses and communities have responded with a celebration of life and gratitude and a burst of entrepreneurial energy.
The festival will run 8–28 November 2021 and, should lockdown continue, will present many programs online for a range of audiences and interests. Design Canberra’s highly creative team is currently working on a contingency plan with a range of online and safe outdoor options for the 2021 festival.
To connect with audiences who can’t physically make it to Canberra, Design Canberra is curating a Design Anytime program. This new program will include self-guided tours of iconic architecture and contemporary design throughout Canberra, as well as online exhibitions, videos and interviews. designcanberrafestival.com.au
