The Asia Pacific Architecture Festival returns

The concept of new ideas and if there is any such thing forms the foundation of this year’s Asia Pacific Architecture Festival. The overarching theme of “How new is now?” stresses that “in reponse to challenging times, architectural and design agency must be applied in groundbreaking ways,” recognizing the pivotal role architecture takes in the culture, sustainability and economy of the Asia Pacific region.

This year’s festival considers the overlap between innovation and iteration with an exciting lineup of exhibitions, symposia, installations and workshops running 13–26 March both online and across Queensland. The 2021 edition of the festival will be more flexible than ever with online delivery of headline events like PechaKucha, which will be live-streamed from QAGOMA’s exhibition The Motorcycle, and The Architecture Symposium, a four-day virtual forum delivered under Architecture Media’s Design Speaks brand.

The Asia Pacific Architecture Festival is a collaboration between founding partners Architecture Media and State Library of Queensland. Visit the festival website to see the full program. asiapacificarchitecturefestival.com
