Stoddart Infrastructure’s bus shelters at La Trobe University are constructed of aluminium and finished in a bright white powdercoat.

‘Smart’ bus shelters by Stoddart Infrastructure

Stoddart Infrastructure was commissioned by La Trobe University to design, manufacture, and install two ambitious shelters as part of the Science Drive bus terminus upgrade at the Bundoora campus, Victoria.

Using the flexibility of the company’s Wellington design, Stoddart was able to cleanly achieve not only the jagged architectural shelter layout, but also the integration of a complex “smart” photovoltaic roof system. The solar roof glass panels are the only indication that the structures contribute to powering their own lighting and that of the surrounding buildings; a fully concealed hardware network enables remote control and monitoring of the system.

Constructed from aluminium and finished in a bright white powdercoat, the long-span shelters also feature rear glass, advertising panels, and seating for patron comfort. Overall, they combine a stunning aesthetic with considered functionality that is a testament to Stoddart’s dedication to innovative solutions.

Stoddart Infrastructure is a trusted supplier for large projects such as La Trobe University where flexibility, experience, and a commitment to quality are crucial to delivering successful outdoor furniture solutions. stoddart.com.au
